Our MOVE TO WESTCHESTeR

The Indy Lab started in 2019 as a function of parents asking us to run language and literacy classes based on our specialized skillsets as speech-language therapists. Playful Literacy was our first class and has been a huge success in providing kids with play-based early literacy opportunities founded in reading science. Think: pin the letter on the donkey, musical letters (instead of musical chairs), and hopscotch letters with explicit phonics instruction! Before COVID, we partnered with independent schools like International Preschools and Saint David’s as well as organizations like 92 Street Y to run after-school programs. Once COVID hit, we pivoted our classes online with tremendous success. We were able to continue teaching kids early literacy skills all around the world! Now that our core team has moved to Westchester, we will continue our Playful Literacy class as a segment of Homeroom, which was our learning pod program that we ran with small, in-person groups in 2020 and 2021. We have now partnered with The Play Place in Elmsford, NY to offer families our Homeroom program starting in the fall of 2021.
