A Summer of Learning, Imaginative Play, and Adventure

The Indy Lab’s Summer Session is a dynamic 7-week program filled with engaging activities designed to spark creativity, exploration, and fun! Children will enjoy outdoor games like slacklining, soccer, and refreshing sprinkler time, fostering teamwork and physical coordination. Indoors, sensory process art and themed activities encourage imaginative play and hands-on learning. With a perfect blend of active play and creative exploration, The Indy Lab Summer Session promises an unforgettable summer adventure for every child!

Summer Fun for Toddlers & Preschoolers

Location: The Indy Lab 1053 Saw Mill River Road Ardsley, NY

Ages: 2 – entering Kindergarten

All children ages 3 and up must be toilet trained prior to joining.

Schedule:

  • Half-Day: 9:00am – 12:15pm
  • Full-Day: 9:00am – 3:00pm
  • Before care: 8:30am – 9:00am
  • After Care: 3:00pm – 5:00pm

Weekly Themes

Week 1: From Tiny to Mighty – The Indy Garden (July 1 – July 3)

🌼 Children will explore how plants grow from tiny seeds into thriving flowers and vegetables through hands-on planting and daily observation. Campers will dig, water, and care for their own garden while learning about what living things need to grow. Expect lots of messy, sensory-rich fun outdoors!

Week 2:  The Great Bug Transformation (July 6 – July 10)

🐛 Campers will dive into the fascinating world of insects and discover how caterpillars transform into butterflies. Through observation, movement, and creative play, children will explore metamorphosis and even take part in their own “transformations.” This week is full of discovery, imagination, and outdoor exploration.

Week 3: Splash, Grow, Jump! (July 13 – July 17)

🐸 This week focuses on frogs and water life cycles, from tiny tadpoles to jumping frogs. Children will engage in water play, movement activities, and habitat building while learning how animals grow and change. It’s an active, sensory-filled week designed to get kids moving and exploring.

Week 4:  Hatch & Grow – Life on the Farm (July 20 – July 24)

Children will explore the early stages of life on the farm and how animals grow from babies into adults. Through creative play, storytelling, and hands-on activities, campers will learn about growth, care, and change. This week blends science, imagination, and nurturing experiences.

Week 5: Watch Me Grow! (July 27 – July 31)

🧍Campers will explore how humans grow and change over time, from babies to big kids. Through storytelling, photos, and creative projects, children will reflect on their own growth and development. This week builds confidence, self-awareness, and connection.

Week 6: Wild Lives: From Baby to Beast (August 3 – August 7)

🐾 Children will discover how different animals grow and change, exploring life cycles across a variety of species. Campers will build habitats, role-play animals, and engage in imaginative, movement-based learning. This week encourages creativity, collaboration, and big play.

Week 7: The Circle of Everything (August 10 – August 14)

🌎 In our final week, children will explore larger cycles in nature, including water, seasons, and day and night. Campers will revisit what they’ve learned and prepare a “Living Museum” to showcase their work. It’s a meaningful wrap-up that celebrates growth, learning, and the connections between all living things.
